How a Neighborhood Café Became a St. Paul Essential

Happily Serving St. Paul Since 1997

At Swede Hollow, we seriously enjoy breakfast, lunch, and espresso drinks. All of our food is made in-house, and our drinks are known all around the city for the special touch of craftsmanship that’s involved in making each one.

If you’re after a caramel or cinnamon roll, you’ll have to beat our regulars to each batch – we’re famous for these as well as our scones.

We’re also well-known for our quiche that’s served all day long. Just about every day, you’ll find two new chef specialties, each of which is sure to leave you satisfied.

Along with our quiche, we continue serving a variety of our breakfast foods all day. You can find delicious caramelized french toast and hashbrowns here no matter when you roll out of bed. But even if you come for all-day breakfast, you might find yourself tempted by our extensive lunch menu which includes a wide variety of sandwiches, salads, and soups.

Our lunch specials are constantly changing – you might be delighted by a comfort food staple one day and shocked by a creative, unexpected dish on the next!

In fair weather, you can escape to our patio and listen to the water falling from an old fountain while enjoying a rare escape from the busyness surrounding us. While you’re there, see what’s growing in the vegetable gardens. We are all very friendly, and we already like you. Come in and visit.

Come for the Food, Stay for the Experience

Swede Hollow Cafe was founded in 1997 in the historic Stutzman building in Dayton’s Bluff on St. Paul’s East Side. Enjoy the stunning view of the downtown skyline. The cafe was named after the history-rich Swede Hollow Park located behind the building. The unique area has been featured on various PBS documentaries.
